In 1903 there were four thousand cars in America, these days we have 287 million and rapidly increasing. The Auto Junkyard by 1930s became the nadir of the American landscape leering out of the countryside like an obscene perversity, often in idyllic rural spots. The car was thought to be the embodiment of optimism and mobility, the result is chaos abstracted with man's best contrivances resigned to the scrap heap, cacophonic by design bidding all connoisseurs of art to indulge critically and marvel with intense observation. The Pope Valley Auto Graveyard is a labour of love a careful and considerate arrangement of ornamental relics that enhances both history and landscape as one organic aesthetic, a decorative exhibition, harmonies for the eye. Please enjoy!!
